Currently Reading

I needed a laugh, so I started Just My Luck yesterday. Not as funny as some of the author’s other works, but I’m enjoying it. I also started Nightshades yesterday, but it turned into more of a police procedural and… I think the main character annoys me. He is kind of an entitled prick. I’m 26% into it and think I might just give it another chapter or so before I give up on it.
I’m still working on The Poppy War, hopefully this week I’ll be able to read it steadily, a little every day instead.

Mid-Year Reading Check In

So, I’ve seen a few bloggers out there do a stats check in on their reading annnnnd it looked really cool. Shout out to Destiny @ Howling Libraries and Amanda @ MetalPhantasmReads because your posts are what convinced me to give this a whirl. 
Also, I totally have a spreadsheet with some cool graphs, I might as well show off some of what I’ve got, right??? 😁

TBR Lows & Highs #39

What a week friends, what a week. This post might be late, buuuuttt it is one of my faves, so I’m still making time to fit it in. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do ^_^

Rules:

• Link back to the original post at Howling Libraries
• Sort your Goodreads TBR shelf by date added, ascending
• Find 5-10 (or more, if you feel ambitious!) titles to purge from your TBR (the “lows”)
  • ALTERNATIVE OPTION: Find 5+ titles that are at the BOTTOM of your TBR—books you want to read someday, just not right now!
• Post those 5 books in the list, with a brief explanation
• Next, sort your Goodreads TBR shelf by date added, descending
• List the last 5 (or more!) books you added to your TBR, with a synopsis or your brief summary of why you added it (the “highs”)

I was tagged to do this super fun tag, which was created by Kaleena at Reader Voracious, by Destiny over at Howling Libraries! Two Truths and a Lie is a great icebreaker, although I am so bad at it!! I swear people usually always guess my lie… I might also be bad at lying?

G.I.V.E. T.H.A.N.K.S : A Thanksgiving Post

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! 

Now, as with most American holidays, I don’t completely agree with the background of it. Why do we keep celebrating horrible people?? Anyhow, what I do like about the holiday is the theme of family and looking back on things to be thankful for. 

For me, today is a day to step back, look at everything I have in my life, and be cognizant of how good my life is. Yes, I have stress in my everyday life and maybe I can’t always buy new books and clothes, but I’m super lucky to be able to live as comfortable as I do. 

So, today I’ll be listing books, authors, and a few other bookish things, in a list spelling out Give Thanks. I got this idea from Nerd Narration’s Top Ten Tuesday Post and thought it was just the coolest thing and here we are 🙂
