Darkest Night (Sons of Broad #1)La Belle Sauvage (The Book of Dust, #1)Married with Zombies (Living with the Dead, #1)The Surface BreaksGreen Rider (Green Rider, #1)

Darkest Night by Tara Thomas
It isn’t at any of my libraries, so I’ll have to say no to this one.

La Belle Sauvage by Philip Pullman
Of course I’ll read this one! I mean… eventually…

Married With Zombies by Jesse Petersen
I heard this was a good audiobook, so I’ll keep it again. I also enjoy reading books about married couples and it sounds funny.

The Surface Breaks by Louise O’Neill
I’ve heard really good things about this book, even if I don’t see many reviews for it.

Green Rider by Kristen Britain
This sounds so magical and amazing! Why have I not read this one yet?

♛ The Highs ♛

I added… too many books this week. I’m actually in awe of how many I added. Over 60 books. How even?! I know some of these are because I entered giveaways, but yikes. I removed so, so many books, you have no idea and here I give you my top 10 adds from the week.

A Villain for ChristmasTrack the Sun (Night Traveler, #1)The Capital (The Knight and the Necromancer #1)Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick (Zoey Ashe, #2)They Called Us Enemy

  • A Villain for Christmas by Alice Winters
I have been loving the Alice Winters books I’ve been reading… this may be one of 4 of her books I added to my TBR this week. This one I’m saving from Christmas (maybe), but the others I might be devouring soon.
  • Track the Sun by Becca Andre
She’s an animal trainer, but she has magic and is hiding from a shaman. Verra interesting.
  • The Knight & The Necromancer by A.H. Lee
    Potentially enemies to lovers???
  • Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick by David Wong
The sequel I forgot I was waiting for, but am now totally hyped about!!
  • They Called Us Enemy by George Takei
I thought this was on my TBR already…. anyhow, planning on reading this super soon.

Our Dreams at Dusk: Shimanami Tasogare, Vol. 2Home Before DarkWill & Patrick Wake Up Married serial, Episodes 1 - 6: Wake Up Married / Meet the Family Do the Holidays / Fight Their Feelings / Meet the Mob / Happy EndingFailed Princesses Vol. 1Unmasked by the Marquess (Regency Imposters, #1)

  • Our Dreams at Dusk, vol. 2 by Yuhki Kamatani
The first volume was so good!
  • Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
The one book I read by this author was good and this one sounds creepily good.
  • Will & Patrick Wake Up Married by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths
    This one sounds absolutely adorable.
  • Failed Princesses, vol. 1 by Ajiichi
Gosh this is another adorable sounding one that I hope is full of love, hope, and cuteness.
  • Unmasked by the Marquess by Cat Sebastian
I keep telling myself I’m going to read this author — I don’t even know how many books of hers I have on my TBR. Also, I don’t know if I’ve read a book with a nonbinary character before so, wow this would be new for me.

TBR TOTAL: 1085
Last week my total was 1060, honestly I’d be more “how is this possible” had I not just brought my total DOWN from 1100+ going through them for my Highs.

So, I’m really glad I go through my TBR every week to clean up books that I added on whims.

What’s new on your TBR you’re excited to read?

Darkhouse (Experiment in Terror, #1)The Supernatural EnhancementsThe Turn: The Hollows Begins with Death (The Hollows #0)I Wish for YouVacant (Mindspace Investigations, #4)

 Darkhouse by Karina Halle
I’m not usually a fan of horror… anymore. This one though, sounds like a lighter horror and it is on KU, so I’m still interested. In fact, I think I’ll borrow it now.

The Supernatural Enchancements by Edgar Cantero
This book still sounds very interesting. I might also be group reading it soon…

The Turn by Kim Harrison
I swear I’ll read this eventually. I’m supposed to be re-reading the series, so maybe this time I’ll start with this one instead of Dead Witch Walking

I Wish For You by Camilla Isley
Women’s fic doesn’t always interest me and this one really isn’t doing it for me anymore.

Vacant by Alex Hughes
I’m keeping this on my TBR because I don’t want to forget about this series. I can only hope one day the series will continue, for now I don’t want to read this one yet, because ugh cliffhangers, you know?  Continue reading “TBR Lows & Highs 83”

Hostile Witness (Witness, #1)The Forest QueenThese Rebel Waves (Stream Raiders, #1)Blood Stained Tea (The Yakuza Path, #1)The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air, #2)

Hostile Witness by Rebecca Forster
I grabbed this one free from Amazon a few years back. The thing is, I’m not a huge fan of legal thrillers, so I’ll pass on this one.

The Forest Queen by Betsy Cornwell
As much as I like Robin Hood, I tend to not like retellings of the legend. I’ll pass on this one rather than let my heart die a little more…

These Rebel Waves by Sara Raasch
I see too many negative reviews by friends that I generally trust. This one probably isn’t for me.

Blood Stained Tea by Amy Tasukada
I’m not ready to say I won’t read this one. I’m actually quite interested–I think I forgot what it was about because had I remembered it dealt with the Yakuza and Korean organized crime with a m/m love story woven in, I probably would have read it sooner.

The Wicked King by Holly Black
Yeah…. how have I not read this one yet???  Continue reading “TBR Lows & Highs #82”

Reign the Earth (The Elementae, #1)The Rose and the Mask: A Beauty and the Beast RetellingThe Reach Between Worlds (The Arclight Saga #1)People Like Us (People Like Us, #1)Mean Streak

✅ Reign the Earth by A.C. Gaughen
This one sounds great. I should try moving it up on my TBR.

✅ The Rose and the Mask by Victoria Leybourne
How can I turn down a fairy tale retelling? I can’t! I’m not strong enough right now… plus it is on KU, so of course I just borrowed it. 🙄

✅ The Reach Between Worlds by C.M. Hayden
This sounds adventurous AND it is on KU. I already have 10 books borrowed… but hopefully I’ll read this soon.

✅ People Like Us by Dana Mele
I really need to read more YA, especially more thrillers. This one has good ratings, so I’m keeping it on my list.

✅ Mean Streak by Sandra Brown
Another thriller that sounds great. I’m so picky with them, so I can’t remove one that catches my interest so.

Wow! I’m keeping all five! What a surprise and I’m so glad to be reminded of these.

Ice Massacre (Mermaids of Eriana Kwai, #1)Deep Blue (Waterfire Saga, #1)The Holver Alley Crew (The Streets of Maradaine, #1)The Name of the Star (Shades of London, #1)Scarlet (Scarlet, #1)

Ice Massacre by Tiana Warner
Females warriors going out to kill mermaids– and there is a romance?? I gotta read this.

Deep Blue by Jennifer Donnelly
So many of my GR friends haven’t had good thoughts about this one, so I’ll pass on it.

✅ The Holver Alley Crew by Marshall Ryan Maresca
I’m a sucker for heist books! And to add to it, they are amateurs which means there may be some shenanigans.

✅ The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
Jack the Ripper… can anyone pass by a book that brings up this infamous killer AND is paranormal?

❌ Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen
This was a hard decision, but with the mixed reviews and my tendency to dislike Robin Hood retellings, I think it is better for all if I stay away from it.

TBR Lows & Highs #79

So, I actually missed a week. In fact it has been over a week since I even posted! Last week was a bit rough and I’m not feeling much better, just enough that I think I can get back to my usual posts…

Foreplay (The Ivy Chronicles, #1)The Magician's LieEvery Heart a Doorway (Wayward Children, #1)Ice Wolves (Elementals, #1)The Girl in the Picture

Foreplay by Sophie Jordan
This was a rough one for me. It sounds cute and lovely, but every time I want to read a NA romance, I skip past this one. But, I do think if I read it I’ll like it, so I’m keeping it for now.

✅ The Magician’s Lie by Greer Macallister
A historical mystery with a suspect in custody who isn’t as powerless as they should be. I’m interested. I don’t know when I’ll get to it, but I do think I’ll read it eventually.

✅ Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
Why have I not read this one yet???

Ice Wolves by Amie Kaufman
It isn’t that it doesn’t sound like a good book, I’m just not interested… Middle Grade is so hard for me to get into.

The Girl in the Picture by Alexandra Monir
This was recommended to me by a teen I worked with. I was told it is like One of Us is Lying

Age of War (The Legends of the First Empire #3)Into the Drowning Deep (Rolling in the Deep, #1)The Hearts We SoldThe Star Thief (Star Thief Chronicles, #1)Scardust

❌ Age of War by Michael J. Sullivan
I did like the previous books, but they took me so long to get through. I just don’t think I’ll get to it.

Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant
Seanan McGuire is hit or miss for me. I loved Feed and this is another horror, so I do want to try it.

✅ The Hearts We Sold by Emily Lloyd Jones
This one has such mixed reviews, but it sounds good and is a standalone, so it’ll stay on my TBR.

✅ The Star Thief by Jamie Grey
Okay, yes, it is sci-fi, but she is a thief, there is a romance, and I heard there is good banter. I need to put this one higher on my TBR list.

❌ Scardust by Suzanne van Rooyen
While it sounds fun, none of my libraries have it available ☹

This is a UF and he works for a government agency which is a concept I love.

I’m finally progressing in this series!
  • The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez
    This one seems adorably sweet!

  • Cursed Luck by Kelley Armstrong
A free e-serial in progress! Go check it out.
  • When Stars Are Bright by Amber R. Duell
A thumbalina retelling– not something you hear of often.
  • Assassin’s Charge by Claire Frank
By Claire Kingsley, one of my go-to contemporary romance authors — I gotta see how she does fantasy!
  • I Kissed Alice by Anna Birch & Victoria Ying
Enemies in real-life, but co-authors of a graphic novel online. Enemies-to-lovers anyone??
  • The Friend Scheme by Cale Dietrich
An #Ownvoices high school romance involving criminal fathers and even more secrets. It sounds great and I love the cover.

TBR TOTAL: 1005

2 more than last week, but considering all the books I added, I think I’m doing good.

What’s new on your TBR you’re excited to read?
