KultiSpider’s Revenge (Elemental Assassin, #5)Kings of the Wyld (The Band, #1)Strange GraceArchenemies (Renegades, #2)

Kulti by Mariana Zapata
I think the most surprising thing is that there is a Zapata books I haven’t read! especially one so popular…. but I will! One day! This one isn’t at my libraries except as audio so erg, I can’t do that. I know I’ll have to buy this one.

Spider’s Revenge by Jennifer Estep
This was a difficult choice. I’ve lost interest in this series as I had to stop reading it as the repetition was starting to annoy me. It has been 2 years since I read it and I’m not inclined to return. Although, this isn’t to say I wouldn’t recommend the series to others– it is interesting.

Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames
Okay, I’ve heard AMAZING things about this one and it has been recommended to me as well. I do plan on reading it. For some reason I feel like waiting for a languid day in the autumn or winter…. honestly I almost feel like reading it today haha, but think I’m putting it off until December/January.

Strange Grace by Tessa Gratton
Now, I’ve heard good things about this one, but I also wasn’t a fan of The Queen’s of Innis Lear. So, I’m not sure… ah okay, I’m going to pass because a lot of people are saying it is a slower pace which isn’t usually my style.

Archenemies by Marissa Meyer
This is another difficult one for me. I enjoyed Renegades but did think it was a wee bit… wandering, if you will. It felt overly long, which seems to be the theme with this one, but I do love stories where the main characters are anti-heroes/villains. Uggghhhhh this is a hard choice, but I suppose I’ll remove this one as I don’t think I’ll get back to it. Such a shame… Continue reading “TBR Lows & Highs #105”

SuperBlack BeachThe Extinction Trials (The Extinction Trials, #1)Hail to the Chef (A White House Chef Mystery, #2)The Wendy (Tales of the Wendy, #1)

Super by Jennifer Chen
Sounds like fun, but also doesn’t sound like my thing. I’ll pass.

Black Beach by Glynis Guevara
None of my libraries carry this one, so I’ll be removing it for now.

The Extinction Trials by S.M. Wilson
Jurassic Park meets The Hunger Games — sounds great, but again none of my libraries have it 🙁

Hail to the Chef by Julie Hyzy
I don’t read cozy mysteries often anymore, but I do want to keep a few on my TBR and the first book in this series was a lot of fun to read.

The Wendy by Erin Michelle Sky
I’ve heard great things about this one! I do plan on reading it sooner or later. Continue reading “TBR Lows & Highs #104”

Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters, #1)Paola Santiago and the River of Tears (Paola Santiago #1)Rebelwing (Rebelwing, #1)The Throne's Trials (The Throne's Trials, #1)Almost Invisible

Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier
This book does sound lovely and fantasy-like, but I think it will be too slow-paced for me.

Paola Santiago and the River of Tears by Tehlor Kay Mejia
So, another one that sounds great, but I just don’t read MG anymore :/

Rebelwing by Andrea Tang
I’m just not feeling this one anymore…

The Throne’s Trials by Nadhira Satria
The synopsis is a wee bit confusing to me and I am cutting back on the royal books on my TBR since I seem to stray away from them now.

Almost Invisible by Maureen Garvie
While this sounds powerful and important, I tend not to read contemporary fiction like this.

Yikes… guess I’m feeling cutthroat today. Continue reading “TBR Lows & Highs #103”

Akata Witch (Akata Witch, #1)The Hollow GirlThe Near Witch (The Near Witch, #1)The Summer PrinceKick (Jenkins Cycle, #1)

Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorapor
I swear eventually I’ll get to this one…

The Hollow Girl by Hillary Monahan
Ehhhh I don’t think this is one for me, unfortunately. I’m not super interested which isn’t a good sign when I’m super into creepy, gothic reads. So, I’m removing this one.

The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab
Okay, okay, I know this is a strange one for me to remove, but I have two other books by this author on my TBR. I’ll read this eventually, but I do know I want to read Vicious and This Savage Song more.

The Summer Prince by Alaya Dawn Johnson
As much as I love the cover and know that I’ve seen this one on a few book lists, the synopsis just… bores me :/ Just not for me, I think.

Kick by John L. Monk
This one sounds hilarious and morbid. Honestly… I’m having a hard time not borrowing this one from KU right now– whoops! looks like I borrowed it. 😉

A Conspiracy in Belgravia (Lady Sherlock, #2)Kill the Dead (Sandman Slim, #2)The King of Bourbon Street (NOLA Nights, #1)The Chase (Briar U, #1)The Goblin Emperor (The Goblin Emperor, #1)

A Conspiracy in Belgravia by Sherry Thomas
I remember enjoying the first book and then stopped, because I forgot to read this one when it came out haha. I do think I’ll want to read this eventually, I just need to want to read mysteries.

Kill the Dead by Richard Kadrey
While I ended up liking the first book, it was a rough ride and I wasn’t too into it, so I don’t think I’ll ever get around to reading this one.

The King of Bourbon Street by Thea De Salle
I’ve heard this one is amazing! It isn’t at the library though 😢, so I’m removing it from my list, but adding it to my Amazon Wishlist.

The Chase by Elle Kennedy
I grabbed this one free from Amazon! I loved The Deal but the end of the series did… well, I wasn’t a fan, so that is one of the reasons I’m hesitating starting the spin-off. But… I do like the hero and I want to read his story….

The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison
I’ve heard this one is great– I think it was even recommended to me– but meh? I continuously forget about it and the synopsis just isn’t grabbing me so… yeah, I’ll be removing it. Continue reading “TBR Lows & Highs #101”

Rhythm, Chord, & Malykhin by Mariana Zapata
Obviously I plan on reading every single book by this author. I love her slow burns! It isn’t on KU though, so I’m waiting until the next time I let myself buy books.

The Nerd and The Marine by D.R. Grady
I remember adding this because I wanted to read more books with a nerdy female character. This one isn’t at any of my libraries though, so I’m removing it from my TBR. It is on my Kindle Wishlist though so I won’t forget it!

City of Ghosts by V.E. Schwab
ehhhhh I just don’t know when I’ll get to this one. I’m not saying no forever, but I’m not interested in it as much as I am the author’s other works.

✅ The Lost Sisters by Holly Black
I swear I’m going to continue this series eventually!

The Iron Trial by Holly Black
I have so many Holly Black books on my TBR. I’m removing this one for now — this probably isn’t a forever decision.  Continue reading “TBR Lows & Highs #100”

Sweetpea (Sweetpea, #1)Trail of Lightning (The Sixth World, #1)Finding Perfect (Finding Perfect #1)Chainbreaker (Timekeeper, #2)The Devilish Duke (Saints & Scoundrels, #1)

Sweetpea by C.J. Skuse
While I do like reading books about serial killers (wow, what a way to start a normal sentence), I don’t like Bridget Jones’ Diary, which this book is compared to. It sounds interesting, it does, but some of the reviews (even the positive ones) are telling me this isn’t the style for me.

Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse
This one was recommended to me and I plan on reading it eventually, I swear!

Finding Perfect by Kendra C. Highley
This one sounds adorable cute and lovely — I even loved another series by this author. The thing is, I rarely ever read cute YA romances anymore. So, I’m trying to stick to the ones at my work I can talk up to other people.

Chainbreaker by Tara Sim
I can’t believe I never continued this series… Timekeeper is an awesome book. So, hopefully I’ll get back to this….

Everything You Want Me to BeTash Hearts TolstoyNavigating the Stars (Sentinels of the Galaxy #1)The Gods of Men (Gods of Men, #1)Seafire (Seafire, #1)

Everything You Want Me to Be by Mindy Mejia
Pretty much all my GR friends who have read this have rated it highly. I’m not sure exactly if it for me or not, but I’ll keep it on my list for a bit longer, just in case I’m interested in reading a YA thriller.

Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Kathryn Ormsbee
As cute as it sounds, it also sounds like I might be bored reading this one.

Navigating the Stars by Maria V. Snyder
This was a rough one to consider. I go back and forth on my feelings about this author’s works. In the end, I’ve decided to remove it, because I don’t think I’ll ever feel brave enough to start it and sci-fi is difficult for me to like at times.

The Gods of Men by Barbara Kloss
I think… I’ll keep this one. This sounds like an epic New Adult Fantasy — perhaps a little confusing, but it has potential to be great, I think.

Seafire by Natalie C. Parker
I have a hard time turning down pirate books, especially feminist pirate books… even if I rarely ever read them. Maybe one day!! Continue reading “TBR Lows & Highs #98”

Her Name in the Sky by Kelly Quindlen
Look, I’m sure this is a fantastic book– it has amazing reviews and over 4 star rating. I’m removing it though because it is sad and everyone says they are crying, even the synopsis sounds uber sad, so I know personally I will never pick it up.

The Gravity Between Us by Kristen Zimmer
I heard this one did not age well and I think I can find better f/f fic out there to read. UGH it hurts to remove two queer books off my TBR in one week, but I honestly think there is better out there! Especially those books coming out in 2021, you know?

Parasite by Mira Grant
I swear Seanan McGuire is hit or miss with me– her writing is always amazing, so it is always a preference thing. This sounds great, so I think I’ll keep it, I just don’t know when I get around to reading it…

❌ Empire of Sand by Tasha Suri
While this one does sound amazing, I’m not one for slower fantasy novels. I get bored too quickly — especially if they are long too.

Sebastian by Anne Bishop
Anne Bishop has written one of my favorite series ever: The Others, so I want to read another series or book by her, but everything seems so different or not totally my thing. As much as I want to read this, I hear it is a slow start with people giving the beginning just 2 stars… ugh. I’m thinking this is another one not for me.

YIKES, I feel like I was really vicious this week…  Continue reading “TBR Lows & Highs #97”

You know what was erased even though I had saved the draft over 10 times? Yeah, this part which I wrote up in Classic. I’ve been at this for like two hours, so I don’t feel like fixing this …. again. So, real quick. I removed Fire and Ash since it will no longer be published and Demon Road since none of my libraries have it but I added it to my Amazon Wishlist for the future.

Heeeyyyy only 16 adds~ and even less when I went through and cleaned things up! Not bad, not bad at all 😁. Since there aren’t too many adds, I’ll just list my top 5 adds of the week.

One Step Behind

Gray Hair Don't Care
One Last Stop

  • One Step Behind by Lauren North
Stalker! But she knows who it is and their health is now in her control… what will this doctor do?
  • She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan
I’ve read a few good tidbits and I’m pretty excited on what might happen here.
  • Wolf Gone Wild by Juliette Cross
OMG this sounds hilarious and fabulous I can’t wait!
  • Gray Hair Don’t Care by Karen Booth
    An older romance!
  • One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
Here it is! Her next book and I’m psyched!!

TBR TOTAL: 1099
Last week? 1095 — so a wee bit of an increase, but I’ve been adding sequels to my TBR mostly, so I’m okay with this.

What I’m not okay with? This new gd block editor. Holy hell, do you know how long it took me to make this post??? Like double the time. I have no idea what I’ll do for my other posts which are even more picture heavy…
