How the world can change in a month… and yet I still read on, because what else can I do? 😁

Last month I read 60 books*!

I read quite a few shorter books this month…

Here are the top 10 books I read this month:

Loved these so much I already want to re-read them. Gimme gimme gimme! Honestly, these are ones I need to buy.
  • October Daye #4 & #5 by Seanan McGuire
Glad I gave this series another chance. I’m enjoying it~
  • Sinister Magic by Lauren Buroker
This series? So, it is hilarious. I’m loving it.
  • Blasphemy by TJ Klune
It may be short but WOW it lit up my day. This will be a future re-read for sure.
  • The Lightning-Struck Heart by TJ Klune
Hilarious — so funny I had to put it down and try calm breathing techniques in the breakroom so people didn’t think I was nuts.
  • The Bird and The Sword by Amy Harmon
Wow this one is beautifully written. I loved reading it.
  • The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
Yes, another TJ Klune, I was on a roll this month. This was my favorite of the month.
  • The Emperor’s Edge by Lindsay Buroker
The dry humor here, the fun adventure with a family-type crew coming togrther– this was fun.
  • Baking Me Crazy by Karla Sorenson
    So cute!!

My 2020 Goals & Resolutions

Hey all! 😎

I wanted to share my goals and resolutions for next year. Here’s the thing, I usually don’t set life resolutions– I just let them drop, but this time around I think I’ll be trying to also write them down and place them somewhere I’ll notice them often. My life needs a positive change this year. And as for reading goals/challenges… well, I dropped them in 2019. I think I made a few too specific, put too much stress on doing too much, and I’m also blaming my lifestyle for losing my motivation to work on the goals — I’ll do a wrap up of my 2019 challenges in another post.

My 2019 Challenges

Hey all 🙂

I wanted to share my challenges/goals for next year with you all! I’ve been truly debating what kinds of challenges I would set up for myself this year, since reading for challenges can sometimes not work out for me. I tend to rebel against obligation reading these days. Any time I feel like I have to read something, I start putting it off. This is a mindset I need to work on for sure, but I haven’t been sure if having challenges would make it worse…
And yet, I feel like having goals and challenges give my reading some direction when I need it.

In conclusion: These are totally my reading challenges, BUT I’m not going to stress about them. They are there to guide my reading and help me, but if I don’t finish I’m not going to feel horrible. I’m also not going to force myself to finish a book just to complete a challenge/prompt. Continue reading “My 2019 Challenges”

I’m Joining Round 7 of Tome Topple!

Me? Joining a Readathon?? I’m honestly a bit shocked myself.

Longer books usually aren’t my jam — I get intimidated and worry I’m not reading fast enough [although this last issue is a whole other issue I will probably be talking about later], but there are in fact longer books on my TBR that I want to read.

So, when I saw that Melanie over at Meltotheany was joining this round of Tome Topple, I looked into it and realized it is the perfect time for me to join in.

I’ve got some longer books I want to read by the end of the year and I have a 4 day weekend because of the holiday. Continue reading “I’m Joining Round 7 of Tome Topple!”

I’m suuuuuuper late with June, but I figured I might as well make the post, since it will help me towards the end of the year.  Continue reading “Monthly Wrap-Up: June ’18”
