Review Round Up: ARCs with some Romance

I’m really trying to get my ARCs/review copies under control, but as accomplished as I feel reading them, it means nothing if I don’t review them! These books are all romances, but different types– but variety is the spice of life, right?

Books reviewed below:

*I voluntarily read and reviewed ARCs of the following books. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

Try A Chapter Challenge – ARC Edition

Hello, Friends!

This is my fifth time doing this challenge — although the last time I did it was in… January. Ouch… well, I’ve been busy, but now I think I have the time to start this again. I checked over my last posts and wouldn’t you know it, more than 90% of the books I talked about in those four posts I’ve either read or removed from my TBR list!

This challenge is really helping me out!

I’ve noticed that while I’m super excited to read some books I push them off because a. I’m worried it won’t live up to the hype (internal or external)
or
b. I’m waiting for the “right” mindset/emotional headspace to read it… aka I’m worried about the self-hype and waiting until I forget it.

Therefore, this challenge which forces you to try books out is exactly what I need!

A quick recap of what this challenge is… the Try a Chapter Challenge is one that started on Youtube (I believe) where the person reads the first chapter of five different books and chooses one of those books to read ASAP, based on the results. Some people also use this challenge to unhaul books as well.

Last Winner…

Indulgence in Death (In Death, #31)

Indulgence in Death : Loved it, love this series~ I also ended up reading Rogue Princess which was not great for me…

This week my choices are the oldest ARCs I have from Netgalley.

I am so behind on my ARCs, I’m hoping this will be the kick in the pants I need!

Here are the five choices I will choose from:

  1. Sky Without Stars by Jessica Brody & Joanne Rendell
  2. Briar and Rose and Jack by Katherine Coville
  3. Loki: Where Mischief Lies by Mackenzi Lee
  4. There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool
  5. The Harp of Kings by Juliet Marillier

Mini Review Round Up: SF/F YA ARCs

Yes, I’m mini reviewing ARCs… I feel hella guilty about this, to be sure, but it’s been 2-3 months since I’ve read them which means I’ve read at least 60 books in between.

Hopefully with all these mini reviews I’m getting in I’ll be able to put out some more thorough reviews soon.

Here are the books I’ve reviewed below:

State of the Arc #2

Happy Saturday, friends!

Last year I shared my ARCs weekly, but that was starting to feel like a bit much and made me more guilty than motivated to finish anything. I’m hoping a monthly post will be better for me. Therefore, I’ll be trying out State of the ARC, hosted by Avalinah’s Books !😁

I totally missed doing this in February (whoops!!)

Anyhow, let’s see how this month is…

DNF ARC Reviews: Truly, Sometimes the Problem is Me

The books I’m reviewing below were unfortunately, DNFs for me.
With the amount of books I want to read these days, I don’t have time to read books that I’m not enjoying. I will admit to not getting quite far into these– sometimes I can tell quite early from the writing style that a book might not be the one for me.

The books reviewed below:

  • Aladdin: Far From Agrabah by Aisha Saeed
  • The Raven & The Dove by Kaitlyn Davis
  • The Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness by Andrew Peterson
