Mini Review Round Up: Manga

Okay y’all I’ve been reading a TON of manga recently. They are fun, I can read them quickly, and they feel like a good break from regular novels. My biggest problem is not being able to get my hands on finished series hahaha.

Books Reviewed Below:

I know, I know this is a lot at once from me, but these are all books and I’m so far behind on reviews… So, these are definitely going to be on the mini side.

It’s Mon–Tuesday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a post to share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It is hosted by Kathryn at Bookdate.

I’m late! Yesterday I was feeling super blah and didn’t get home until late, so.. yah. But I like getting these typed up for my own to look back on, therefore I won’t be skipping!

Currently Reading

Murder of Crows (The Others, #2)Take a Hint, Dani Brown (The Brown Sisters, #2)

I’m doing a re-read of The Others! This is a series I love enough to buy, so you know it is a fave. Once I start, I have a hard time stopping, so I’m assuming I’m going to read mostly this series this week. At least I’m already on book 2! I also started Take a Hint. Dani Brown. So far, so good, I’m just caught up in other books.

Sunday Post 8/30/20

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blogs.

Alrighty, I skipped last week because I was in a funk, but  I won’t be rehashing it since I read way too much. Hahah this post would be suuuper long. Anyhow, did I stick to my TBR? Mostly! This week ended up being the week of re-reads and tomes.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Another series re-read. I thought I’d have to force myself to continue through it whic his why only book 4 was on my TBR for the week, but I got hooked! This means I’m making great progress and I’m hopeful in September I’ll finally get to the third trilogy.

The Poppy War (The Poppy War, #1)Wolf Gone Wild (Stay a Spell #1)Gideon the Ninth (The Locked Tomb, #1)

  • Wolf Gone Wild by Juliette Cross 🍰✌
⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 – I needed some fluff after finishing The Poppy War before starting the next big book on my list. This was cute, just like I wanted and I look forward to the next.
  • Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir ✌🌈 (448 pages)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Amazing, once again. I even knew what was coming and still teared up.

I know, I know, this doesn’t seem like a lot of books from me…. but that’s why I included page numbers haha and technically Hannaford prep is 4 books which should put me back where I usually am. Oh, and let’s not forget what I’m currently reading… Continue reading “Sunday Post 8/30/20”

Her Name in the SkyThe Gravity Between UsParasite (Parasitology, #1)Empire of Sand (The Books of Ambha, #1)Sebastian (Ephemera, #1)

Her Name in the Sky by Kelly Quindlen
Look, I’m sure this is a fantastic book– it has amazing reviews and over 4 star rating. I’m removing it though because it is sad and everyone says they are crying, even the synopsis sounds uber sad, so I know personally I will never pick it up.

The Gravity Between Us by Kristen Zimmer
I heard this one did not age well and I think I can find better f/f fic out there to read. UGH it hurts to remove two queer books off my TBR in one week, but I honestly think there is better out there! Especially those books coming out in 2021, you know?

Parasite by Mira Grant
I swear Seanan McGuire is hit or miss with me– her writing is always amazing, so it is always a preference thing. This sounds great, so I think I’ll keep it, I just don’t know when I get around to reading it…

❌ Empire of Sand by Tasha Suri
While this one does sound amazing, I’m not one for slower fantasy novels. I get bored too quickly — especially if they are long too.

Sebastian by Anne Bishop
Anne Bishop has written one of my favorite series ever: The Others, so I want to read another series or book by her, but everything seems so different or not totally my thing. As much as I want to read this, I hear it is a slow start with people giving the beginning just 2 stars… ugh. I’m thinking this is another one not for me.

YIKES, I feel like I was really vicious this week…  Continue reading “TBR Lows & Highs #97”

Review Round Up: Romance w/ Some Darkness

I have really fallen into romance these past years and find it a wonderful way to escape. That being said, I have also found dark romances and find them fascinating. The thing with dark is that it is so subjective and everyone has their own limits. The books below, I think, really are all over the spectrum.

Had to cut the “mini” part out of the title this go around because some of these… got a little long. I really try to explain some of the content and of course, I love some of these books so much I couldn’t stop typing!

Of course, knowing I have a ton of library books to read, I still picked up Hannaford Prep: The complete series to re-read. After reading The Butcher of the Bay, I couldn’t help myself ^_^. I’m on the last book, so I should be able to finish it tonight.  Continue reading “It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?”

Demon Road (Demon Road, #1)
Honor Girl: A Graphic Memoir
Openly Straight (Openly Straight, #1)

You know what was erased even though I had saved the draft over 10 times? Yeah, this part which I wrote up in Classic. I’ve been at this for like two hours, so I don’t feel like fixing this …. again. So, real quick. I removed Fire and Ash since it will no longer be published and Demon Road since none of my libraries have it but I added it to my Amazon Wishlist for the future.

Here it is! Her next book and I’m psyched!!

TBR TOTAL: 1099
Last week? 1095 — so a wee bit of an increase, but I’ve been adding sequels to my TBR mostly, so I’m okay with this.

What I’m not okay with? This new gd block editor. Holy hell, do you know how long it took me to make this post??? Like double the time. I have no idea what I’ll do for my other posts which are even more picture heavy…
