TBR Lows & Highs #102

Weekend here we come!! 😁 But more like — look out TBR pile it is Friday and I’m coming for you! 😈

  • Link back to the original post at Howling Libraries
  • Sort your Goodreads TBR shelf by date added, ascending
  • Find 5-10 (or more, if you feel ambitious!) titles to purge from your TBR (the “lows”)
    • ALTERNATIVE OPTION: Find 5+ titles that are at the BOTTOM of your TBR—books you want to read someday, just not right now!
  • Post those 5 books in the list, with a brief explanation
  • Next, sort your Goodreads TBR shelf by date added, descending
  • List the last 5 (or more!) books you added to your TBR, with a synopsis or your brief summary of why you added it (the “highs”)

Akata Witch (Akata Witch, #1)The Hollow GirlThe Near Witch (The Near Witch, #1)The Summer PrinceKick (Jenkins Cycle, #1)

Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorapor
I swear eventually I’ll get to this one…

The Hollow Girl by Hillary Monahan
Ehhhh I don’t think this is one for me, unfortunately. I’m not super interested which isn’t a good sign when I’m super into creepy, gothic reads. So, I’m removing this one.

The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab
Okay, okay, I know this is a strange one for me to remove, but I have two other books by this author on my TBR. I’ll read this eventually, but I do know I want to read Vicious and This Savage Song more.

The Summer Prince by Alaya Dawn Johnson
As much as I love the cover and know that I’ve seen this one on a few book lists, the synopsis just… bores me :/ Just not for me, I think.

Kick by John L. Monk
This one sounds hilarious and morbid. Honestly… I’m having a hard time not borrowing this one from KU right now– whoops! looks like I borrowed it. 😉

♛ The Highs

Shadows (Bayou Magic, #1)Rules for VanishingHouse of Whispers (Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper, #5)In the Study with the Wrench (Clue Mystery, #2)All of Us Villains (All of Us Villains, #1)

  • Shadows by Kristen Proby
Little spooky and she sees ghosts — I’m just into these kinds of books right now.
  • The Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall
Campfire, spookiness, hunting for a missing girl, and it sounds like anything could happen.
  • House of Whispers by J.L. Bryan
Five books in! This is a fun ghost story — very creepy at times.
  • In the Study with the Wrench by Diana Peterfreund
I enjoyed the first book and I really want to know what will happen with [redacted] and who else will die. Plus, I just love clue so much haha.
  • All of Us Villains by Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman
I love the title, love the tagline, but the synopsis… I’m a little confused I think. Still, I’m excited for this one.

Snowspelled (The Harwood Spellbook, #1)Touched by Fire (Demons of New Chicago, #1)XOXOThe Archive of the Forgotten (Hell's Library, #2)Five Total Strangers

  • Snowspelled by Stephanie Burgis
I’m thinking this will be a great Winter read — yeah, I’ll already planning those books haha.
  • Touched by Fire by Kel Carpenter
Everything about this — title, cover, synopsis — is calling to me. I really want to read this one.
  • XOXO by Axie Oh
This cover!!! UGH so many K-pop books out recently and all of them sound great.
  • The Archive of the Forgotten by A.J. Hackwith
The first book was quite fun, so I’m looking forward to this one as well.
  • Five Total Strangers by Natalie D. Richards
Thriller!! Just reading the synopsis has me 😲!😲!😦

I haven’t read as much as usual this week, but still added probably about the same as usual haha.

What is new on your TBR??
