Sunday Post 8/30/20

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blogs.

Alrighty, I skipped last week because I was in a funk, but  I won’t be rehashing it since I read way too much. Hahah this post would be suuuper long. Anyhow, did I stick to my TBR? Mostly! This week ended up being the week of re-reads and tomes.

Hannaford Prep: The Complete SeriesHard to Find (Hell Hounds Harem #4)Hard to Love (Hell Hounds Harem #5)Hard to Kill (Hell Hounds Harem #6)

  • Hannaford Prep: The Complete Series by J. Bree ✌🍰 (1,274 pages)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Technically this is 4 books in one. Also a re-read. This is on my to-buy list ❤.
  • Hell Hound Harem: Second Trilogy (#4-6) by Briana Michaels ✌🍰
⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Another series re-read. I thought I’d have to force myself to continue through it whic his why only book 4 was on my TBR for the week, but I got hooked! This means I’m making great progress and I’m hopeful in September I’ll finally get to the third trilogy.

The Poppy War (The Poppy War, #1)Wolf Gone Wild (Stay a Spell #1)Gideon the Ninth (The Locked Tomb, #1)

  • The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang ✌👑🐾🎮 (644 pages)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – WOW, this book is amazing. There is about 10% there that turned my stomach, but other than that… wow.
  • Wolf Gone Wild by Juliette Cross 🍰✌
⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 – I needed some fluff after finishing The Poppy War before starting the next big book on my list. This was cute, just like I wanted and I look forward to the next.
  • Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir ✌🌈 (448 pages)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Amazing, once again. I even knew what was coming and still teared up.

I know, I know, this doesn’t seem like a lot of books from me…. but that’s why I included page numbers haha and technically Hannaford prep is 4 books which should put me back where I usually am. Oh, and let’s not forget what I’m currently reading…

Harrow the Ninth (The Locked Tomb, #2)Take a Hint, Dani Brown (The Brown Sisters, #2)

I’m currently 350 pages into this 512 page book, Harrow the Ninth. It is confusing as hell — a puzzle of itself. I hear once you hit 70% things start to make sense and I hope they do! I’ve taken so many notes….

Yes, I finally started Take a Hint, Dani Brown 🐲. I needed a break from Harrow and this was lovely. I’m 16% in and very excited about where it will go.

General News

Books: So, technically, everything I read this week was on my TBR, or in the case of Dani: my Monthly TBR. Only 2 books I finished weren’t re-reads. I will say reading print/physical books is so much slower for me and with Harrow I keep flipping back or taking notes — seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever made this many notes on a fictional book.

Reviews: I missed out on this by skipping my wrap up last Sunday, so I finished all my May reviews (yay!) I had brought my list down to 112, but now it is back up to 122 *sigh*. Good news is that I only have 19 books to review from June and a few of those I probably won’t review which will make it go faster. Will I get June done before September? Probably not, but this means I might get July done before October ^_^.

Watched: Mostly, I’ve been reading, reading, reading, and no one is surprised. Movies for date night have been my picks! We watched Killing Gunther and The  Family. I like action movies and I like humor — both weren’t exactly what I thought they would be, but ended up enjoyable.

Other: hmmmm not much else is going on besides working from home one day.

Harrow the Ninth (The Locked Tomb, #2)Take a Hint, Dani Brown (The Brown Sisters, #2)Unnatural (The Wrong Alpha, #1)Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #7)

Look, I’m totally going to finish Harrow the Ninth — I need to know what is going on!! It is a physical copy though so I know it will take most of the day… when it is done I hope I’ll go to Take a Hint, Dani Brown, but I have no idea what I’ll be in the mood for afterward. The two other books are possibilities I’m considering because I do want to read them soon.

I’m also hopeful that I’ll feel up to writing some reviews!!

What are you doing on this lovely Sunday?
