TBR Lows & Highs #90

Weekend here we come!! 😀 But more like — look out TBR pile it is Friday and I’m coming for you! 😈

Rules:

  • Link back to the original post at Howling Libraries
  • Sort your Goodreads TBR shelf by date added, ascending
  • Find 5-10 (or more, if you feel ambitious!) titles to purge from your TBR (the “lows”)
    • ALTERNATIVE OPTION: Find 5+ titles that are at the BOTTOM of your TBR—books you want to read someday, just not right now!
  • Post those 5 books in the list, with a brief explanation
  • Next, sort your Goodreads TBR shelf by date added, descending
  • List the last 5 (or more!) books you added to your TBR, with a synopsis or your brief summary of why you added it (the “highs”)

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
I am a huge fan of classic mysteries and even more so for these tropes: locked room, dinner parties, “one of us is the killer,” and a others, so this book hits so many of my buttons ^_^ I read a few Agatha Christie back in the day, but can’t remember which. I’d love to read more by her.

Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep
This was a harder choice… it sounds okay, perhaps I’d like it, but I’m not a huge fan of the Elemental Assassin series. All my friends who’ve read this have liked it though, so I’ll keep it around for a rainy day.

The Smoke Thieves by Sally Green
This is one I keep adding and removing from my TBR which I think says it all. It sounds interesting, but I’m reading a lot of mixed reviews on it.

Picture Us in the Light by Kelly Loy Gilbert
This is one I think I added for the LGBT rep, but I think I’m doing good on having enough of those books on my TBR that I actually want to read, that I don’t need to keep one I’m not totally interested in.

Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan
This is another one I’m seeing tons of mixed reviews for from my friends, but it sounds so good that I still want to read it.

 The Highs

Okay, this may be shocking to some of you, I know it shocked me when I noticed, but I have only added 9– NINE– books to my TBR this week 0.0”. Is it really Friday?? What is going on? So, this week, I’ll only be showing my top 5 highs.

End Game (The Foundling, #5)Accidentally EngagedBy a ThreadDaughter of Black LakeRent a Boyfriend

  • End Game by Hailey Edwards
The last book of the series! Can’t believe we are here already…
  • Accidentally Engaged by Farah Heron
Fake dating and close proximity! ^_^
  • By a Thread by Lucy Score
I’m still not sure how I feel about this author, but this book sounds funny so I thought it would be worth giving a try.
  • Daughter of Black Lake by Cathy Marie Buchanan
It is historical, but not about an era I usually read, so I’m definitely interested.
  • Rent a Boyfriend by Gloria Chao
You can’t tell me the premise to this one doesn’t sound adorably cute!

TBR TOTAL: 1122  — 2 more than last week

Guess this is to make up for last week and my 15 adds hahaha.

What is new on your TBR??
