So, I actually missed a week. In fact it has been over a week since I even posted! Last week was a bit rough and I’m not feeling much better, just enough that I think I can get back to my usual posts…
Also, y’all… it is Friday! I’m already starting to relax…
Rules:
- Link back to the original post at Howling Libraries
- Sort your Goodreads TBR shelf by date added, ascending
- Find 5-10 (or more, if you feel ambitious!) titles to purge from your TBR (the “lows”)
- ALTERNATIVE OPTION: Find 5+ titles that are at the BOTTOM of your TBR—books you want to read someday, just not right now!
- Post those 5 books in the list, with a brief explanation
- Next, sort your Goodreads TBR shelf by date added, descending
- List the last 5 (or more!) books you added to your TBR, with a synopsis or your brief summary of why you added it (the “highs”)

✅Foreplay by Sophie Jordan
This was a rough one for me. It sounds cute and lovely, but every time I want to read a NA romance, I skip past this one. But, I do think if I read it I’ll like it, so I’m keeping it for now.
✅ The Magician’s Lie by Greer Macallister
A historical mystery with a suspect in custody who isn’t as powerless as they should be. I’m interested. I don’t know when I’ll get to it, but I do think I’ll read it eventually.
✅ Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
Why have I not read this one yet???
❌Ice Wolves by Amie Kaufman
It isn’t that it doesn’t sound like a good book, I’m just not interested… Middle Grade is so hard for me to get into.
✅The Girl in the Picture by Alexandra Monir
This was recommended to me by a teen I worked with. I was told it is like One of Us is Lying.
♛ The Highs ♛
Sooooo many adds in two weeks. So instead of a top 10 here is a top 15 adds– and narrowing the list down was so difficult.
- Nice Dragons Finish Last by Rachel Aaron
DRAGONS! Also was told it is similar to Guild Codex in style — so I’m game! - Fallen by Tenaya Jayne
Enemies to lovers PNR with vampires. I’m a sucker (heh) for vampires, I just can’t past them by. - An Act of Faith by C.A. Oliver
Am I getting sucked in by another pretty cover? Yes, yes I am. - Heart of Malice by Lisa Edmonds
I absolutely adore reading books with badass protags. - A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik
While I’ve only read one book by Novik, I was still so excited seeing a new book coming out. A magical, deadly school were failure means death. Oooooo, yeah I’m interested.
- Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall
Fake boyfriend and one of them is the son of a rockstar, looking to change his image. - The Angel of the Crows by Katherine Addison
Alt-history with supernatural beings! And that COVER!! - Awaken the Dragon by A.C. Arthur
More dragon shifters! - Ghost Wood Song by Erica Waters
Family secrets, a gorgeously resonant LGBTQ love triangle, and just the right amount of creepiness make this young adult debut a haunting and hopeful story about facing everything that haunts us in the dark.
- Sisters of Sword and Song by Rebecca Ross
A standalone fantasy focusing on the bond between sisters.
- He Started It by Samantha Downing
This sounds like a funny thriller. - One of Us is Next by Karen M. McManus
I don’t know why this wasn’t on my list already. I did enjoy the first book. - Windcatcher by A.J. Norfield
This is the post of dragons!! - The Athena Protocol by Shamim Sarif
Female spies enacting vigilante justice — sign me up!! - Finding Home by Emilia Finn
MMA fighter/gym owner and a single mom with baggage. I don’t know why, but this is singing to me.
TBR Total: 1021 — up 16 YIKES
I really walked away from my TBR this week and that is why my number skyrocketed.
