It’s Friday!!
I’m actually packing and loading boxes today, so this is a scheduled post 😉 wish me luck and please, please everyone wish for nice weather for the next few days so loading isn’t a pain!
Anyhow onto this post– my favorite of the week!
Rules:
- Link back to the original post at Howling Libraries
- Sort your Goodreads TBR shelf by date added, ascending
- Find 5-10 (or more, if you feel ambitious!) titles to purge from your TBR (the “lows”)
- ALTERNATIVE OPTION: Find 5+ titles that are at the BOTTOM of your TBR—books you want to read someday, just not right now!
- Post those 5 books in the list, with a brief explanation
- Next, sort your Goodreads TBR shelf by date added, descending
- List the last 5 (or more!) books you added to your TBR, with a synopsis or your brief summary of why you added it (the “highs”)
✘✘✘ The Lows ✘✘✘
❌ The Heir and the Spare by Emily Albright
While it sounds adorably cute, I think I’d find myself more annoyed with some of the circumstances I am guessing will arise.
✅ Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas
I’ve heard good things about this one and I do read Historical Romances on occasion.
❌ Dukes to the Left of Me, Princes to the Right by Kieran Kramer
I read the first one and mostly liked it and was willing to read the next, but none of my libraries have it. No reason to keep it on if I won’t be able to read it.
❌ Steamed by Katie MacAlister
I love me a good steampunk novel, but alas, this one isn’t interesting me quite as much as it did before.
✅ The Child Thief by Brom
As a fan of Peter Pan I’m somewhat shocked I still haven’t read, what some of my GR friends call ‘A Must-Read,’ book.
♛ The Highs ♛
In order to not bombard y’all with the tons of books I add to my TBR list, I’m trying show a max of 10 titles I’m most excited for. Yes, yes…. I know 10 books is still quite a lot, but there are so many good books!!
- The Oracle Code by Marieke Nijkamp & Manuel Preitano
A superhero origin story, but she’s also in a wheelchair. I’m so excited to see how this will go! - Close Quarters by Anna Zabo
Okay, hear me out: Vampires and Fae on a cruise with a human falling in love with one of the fae who’s there to kill vampires. And did I mention it is mlm?? - Darklight by Bella Forrest
More vampires! But, there is also an undercover organization that saves humanity from dark forces… like vampires. I’m very interested. - The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix
Housewives in the 1990s have a book club that suddenly turns into a vampire-killing operation… potentially. - Remedial Rocket Science by Susannah Nix
I’m a sucker for geeky romances.
- Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron
A Retelling, but also what might things be like 200 years after Cinderella, spoiler alert: Not great. - The Princess Will Save You by Sarah Henning
Do you see that beautiful cover?! Also, I heard someone say this reminded them of The Princess Bride, so I’m totally down. The synopsis though… omg I’m ready. - Conventionally Yours by Annabeth Albert
Love at a convention! But also, enemies-to-lovers, forced-proximity re: road trip! I’m ready! - Touched by AJ Aalto
hmmm what is it that draws me to this one. It is most definitely Urban Fantasy and it seems like the supernatural is known to the public, also being taught in University, but there is also a mystery to it and potentially some humor? - We Free the Stars by Hafsah Faizal
I just finished the first book. This cover is, once again, beautiful and I really want to know what will happen to these characters.
TBR Total: 944 !! Same as last week, somehow.
Here’s hoping for some nice weather for loading! And I love seeing The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires on your list. Grady Hendrix is one of my favorites, and now he’s mashing two of my favorite genres together.

Thanks! Weather has been windy, but amazing for packing otherwise. Here’s to hoping the snow holds off tomorrow until we pack the last few things haha.
I’ve never read anything by Grady Hendrix before, but that book sounds sooooo interesting that I can’t wait to try it out 🙂 those are definitely not genres I thought we’d see mashed together.

I’m excited for a bunch of your highs, but especially that new Grady Hendrix title! It feels like it’s been forever since We Sold Our Souls came out, and while I do still have My Best Friend’s Exorcism to read, I’ve been saving it because I didn’t want to not have any Grady books left on my TBR. 😂 I got an eARC of the new book recently, though, so I think I’ll read it soon and then maybe try to save MBFE for later this year. I just love his writing so much.

I have yet to read anything by them, so after hearing all these good things, I’m so ready to read that one ^_^
