November ’19 Wrap Up

What a month. I did SO MUCH READING! I’m quite surprised with myself especially since I also did a few other things and I was so stressed. Honestly, I’m still shocked that November is over.

Last month I read 53 books*!
*counting novellas and graphic novels

Back to my usual range~

Here are the top 10 books I read this month:

Cardinal Caged (The Cardinal, #2)For Fox Sake (The Chaos of Foxes, #1)Broken Destiny (Hidden Academy #1)Ravensong (Green Creek, #2)The Secret Girl (Adamson All-Boys Academy #1)

Sweep of the Blade (Innkeeper Chronicles, #4)In the Middle of Somewhere (Middle of Somewhere, #1)Get a Life, Chloe Brown (The Brown Sisters, #1)Chase the Dark (Steel & Stone, #1)Red Winter (Red Winter Trilogy, #1)

  • Cardinal Caged by Mia Smantz
    I’m loving this series.
  • For Fox Sake by Emma Dean
I devoured this series. I’m now a fan of this author.
  • Broken Destiny by Serena Lindahl
  • Ravensong by T.J. Klune
    I cry…
  • The Secret Girl by C.M. Stunich
I’m dying for the next one to come out!!
  • Sweep of the Blade by Ilona Andrews
Everything they publish is my favorite, I swear.
  • In the Middle of Somewhere by Roan Parrish
    This was so sweet!
  • Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
Talk about sweet… honestly, this might be the best thing Talia Hibbert has ever written– which is so hard to say because everything she writes is G O L D!
  • Chase the Dark by Annette Marie
  • Red Winter by Annette Marie
Okay, I’m a huge fan of this author now. I devoured these series this month and I”m dying for more.

Book Haul

Hungry Like a Wolf (Claws Clause, #1)

I thought this was something else, but I mean it still sounds interesting and I’ll read it sooner or later.

Reading Challenges/Goals Update

✔ Goodreads Reading Challenge

Currently surpassed my goal by 100%… I read a ton of short books and have absolutely no life… I was trying to change this.

»Pop Sugar Reading Challenge

No progress. I’m okay with this though.

»Read More Childrens/Middle Grade books

I did read a few MG last month… I’m at 3% overall which… isn’t horrible?

»Read More Diverse Books

I read so many books featuring LGBTQIA+ characters last month and a few with POC characters, so I’m happy with this but also annoyed, because I’m not doing well with #OwnVoices books or ones featuring disabilities.

»Series TBR Takedown

»Take Time to NOT Read

I made a few calls in November– 2 Skype calls even. I even went out for a dinner and movie with friends. Oh! And I did quite a bit of crocheting– a whole weekend of no reading. Let me say that had me itching to pick up a book haha.

»Additional Monthly Goals….

I only read 5 ARCs 😕 but I’m trying to get back into reading them. There are a TON of books I still need to review, so I didn’t do good there either… but I did watch some shows and finished crocheting the two beanies. So, pluses and minuses.

Final Thoughts

I know I said this the last two months, but I mean it this time. I’m limiting the amount of books I request. I’m capping it at 5 this month — hopefully I can keep it to this. I’m also going to try focusing on reading those ARCs and I’m planning on not requesting any library books and limiting my KU books too. We will see if I can stick to a number and keep to it.
November was a decent month for me [even if I have no idea where it went??], so hopefully December will also be productive.
