This week’s topic:Books That Would Make Good Video Games
You know, I’ve never really thought about this before! For shame!! As much as I love video games, I can’t believe it. Well, let’s see what I’ve got.
*In no particular order
Fate of Flames by Sarah Raughley
Okay, totally read this book last night (review to come) and loved it. I could just imagine a game where you are the new Effigie and are sucked into this battle while trying to learn things.
Age of Myth by Micheal J. Sullivan
I’ll be honest here and say the first thing that popped into my head was tower defense haha. I also do think it could be an interesting Civ type game where you are trying to improve your cities, but the “gods” are out to kill you.
Percy Jackson and the Olymipans by Rick Riordan
You can’t tell me this wouldn’t make an awesome MMORPG. Already the half-bloods get quests! So, people could pick their own godly parent or accept the parent given to them in tutorial (first day in camp) where their skills at archery, sword fighting, and strategy are calculated to deciding their parent. After that it would be quests galore.
Paper Princess by Erin Watt
Yes, my guilty pleasure book. Honestly though the way it is set up with the girl coming into the house and all the guys there, you can’t tell me it isn’t the perfect set up in a otome dating game. This would be the perfect ‘choose who you want to date’ book because then I could pick the nice awesome guy and not the abusive one!! *sigh* sorry, rant over. Anyhow, dating game.
Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits by David Wong
This book is just plain cool and I just wish someone would take my suggestion and read it. UGH Anyhow, as a game I think it could work. Survival mystery where you try to sneak about and figure out who is trying to kill you and, you know, survive.
Some other possible good ones:
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo if you got to play as Inej and be all assassin-like.
Fairytale Galaxy Chronicles by Katie Hamstead because I totally would want to play a space/fairytale game
Soul Eater by Atsushi Okubo– who wouldn’t want to become the greatest soul reaper?
What books do you think could be games? Comment below or leave a link to your post and I’ll check it out ^_^
I love your idea with the Percy Jackson one! I thought of that for this topic but not how you thought about the game itself and choosing your Godly parent! The quests would be so much fun though!

It would be awesome! Sometimes I think if a game follows the books or movie too closely it might be boring, but opening the world could bring in new players too ^_^

I love all your picks! Percy Jackson would make such a great video game, I can’t believe this hasn’t been created yet! 😀

I know! I think I read on a post yesterday that a Percy Jackson game came out, but it followed the movie mostly… the screenshot didn’t look so great A game with such potential…
