Mini Review: Tortall and Other Lands

Tortall and Other Lands: A Collection of Tales by Tamora Pierce

Genres/Themes: Young Adult, Anthology, Short stories, Fantasy

Very fun!

Collected here for the first time are all of the tales from the land of Tortall, featuring both previously unknown characters as well as old friends. Filling some gaps of time and interest, these stories, some of which have been published before, will lead Tammy’s fans, and new readers into one of the most intricately constructed worlds of modern fantasy.

There are 11 short stories features some stories (most) from Tortall and a few which are featured in other worlds (like the modern world)

If you haven’t read the Tortall world series then you probably won’t understand most of the stories or the background. The world is pretty complex if only because there is so much to it so, definitely read those books before reading this.

Some of these stories don’t deal with the Tortall world and I tended not to like those as much.

I loved Nawat’s story as well as Qiom’s story. I always wondered about what happened to him after his change from eing an apple tree haha. Kitten’s story was cute… I really want to read Diane’s story again.

Really enjoyed this and recommend it to people who have read the Tortall books.
