Top 5 Wednesday: Character names

This week’s theme is favorite character names. Names of characters that you really like for some reason or another.

1. Rhys

I can’t remember his last name even if he has one but, this Rhys is from Laurell K. Hamilton’s Merry Gentry series. I thought it was pronounced Rye-ess (no idea why) but, it turns out it is like the name Reese. I prefer the Rhys spelling and… I fell in love with the name. It is a contender for a future kids name although… definitely won’t be named after the character– just like the name.

2. Luna Lovegood

I could list soooo many Harry Potter names but, I thought variety would be best. Seriously though, Hermione Granger, Oliver Wood, Sirius Black… I could go on forever. I picked Luna because it is so whimsical. I’ve always always feel a spark of happiness when I hear her name.

3. Princess Isra

Isra is the main character from Of Beast and Beauty. I found her name pretty and easy to roll off the tongue. Also goes well with her love interest, Gem.

4. Hawke Snow

Hawke comes from the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh. He is one of my favorite character and I like his name. I like MANY names from this series. Sienna Walker, Riley, Duncan, Kit, and more really. There are so many characters it was hard to pick but, Hawke is my fave and book 10, his book, is last one I read so there he is.

5. Kaz

Kaz (omg I can’t remember his last name) from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. This was a hard pick too… Jesper, Wylan, Inej, Matthais.. heck even is Nina is a good name really. Now, I wasn’t sure on Inej or Matthais until I heard the author pronounce them!
Here is the link to the pronunciations
! Such love for these names… At this point, mostly Kaz, Inej, and Wylan but, I love them all.
Help me I need more of this story I’m going crazy!! Honestly, this book is on my ‘to-buy’ list because I already want to re-read it.

So, those are my name choices! What do you think? Do we share any of the same names? Was your list hard to make too?

Thanks for reading!
